Providers can drag and drop clinical documents and insurance cards to auto-generate prior authorization drafts, eliminating manual data entry. And when payers respond, SamaCare processes those documents too, closing the loop on the entire PA workflow.
SamaCare was looking for a performant solution that could get to provider value quickly. They turned to Extend and built the clinical document autofill feature from scratch in just 3 weeks. Today, a majority of practices use it daily. SamaCare uses Extend's /classify API for low latency document classification, which enables them to give user feedback in real-time. They pair this with Extend's /parse and /extract APIs to handle the complexity of healthcare documents, including handwriting, signatures, and checkboxes. Extend now processes nearly 99% of SamaCare's document volume, over 500,000 pages per month, at 98% accuracy.
Over seven years, SamaCare has built the largest proprietary dataset of medical benefit prior authorizations in the world. As that dataset grows, the platform becomes smarter, automating more of the PA journey so providers spend less time on paperwork and more time getting patients the care they need.
