## Frequently asked questions

### What are credits?

Credits are Extend's universal billing unit. Each API (Parse, Extract, Split, Classify, or Edit) consumes a base number of credits per page, so you only pay for what you process.

### How is pricing calculated?

Each run consumes credits per page — extraction costs 3 credits per page, plus 2 credits per page for the automatic parse, so extracting a 10-page document costs 50 credits total. Your dollar cost is those credits times your plan's per-credit rate: on Pay As You Go ($0.0125 per credit), that 10-page extraction comes to about $0.63.

### Do credit rates decrease at higher volumes?

Yes. Higher-tier plans come with lower per-credit rates, so your cost per page drops as you scale.

### How do I track my usage?

View real-time credit usage and trends in the dashboard's Usage tab. Billing options — including low-balance alerts and automatic top-ups — are under Settings.
